By running them at 400V, we can cram a massive amount of power into a small space. You get the heat you need without needing a lamp the size of a baseball bat. It keeps your gear compact, which is always a win. The deal with the voltage Why 400V? It’s actually a bit of a shortcut for your wiring. Since we’ve bumped up the voltage, the current draw stays lower for that 2500W output. For you, that means you can use thinner wires in your control panels. Plus, you won’t have to worry as much about voltage dropping off if you’re running long cables. Everything just stays consistent, even across a huge bank of lamps. The build quality We use high-purity quartz glass for these. It’s not just for show—it keeps the halogen cycle working. Without it, the tungsten filament would just evaporate and coat the inside of the tube, making your lamp dim and useless. As for the fit, most of these use R7s or SK15 connectors. They’re basically “plug and play” for most industrial heaters. They snap in tight, which is exactly what you want so you don’t get any nasty arcing at the terminals. Real-world use (and a warning) You’ll mostly see these in PET blowing machines or plastic curing lines. They blast short-wave infrared radiation that sinks into the material almost instantly. But here’s the catch:these things get incredibly hot. If your cooling fans are too small or your reflectors are looking a bit pitted and worn, you’re going to fry the ends of the lamp. It happens all the time. Just make sure your housing can actually breathe. If the ventilation is bad, your lamp life is going to tank.
