Introduction
We built this 400mm halogen infrared lamp for engineers who just need heat—fast, predictable, and right where they need it. It’s straightforward: 800W of output, powered by a 400V supply, all packed into a 400mm tube. If you’re squeezed for space but still need serious heat without tripping your control panel, this was made for that exact kind of spot.
Technical Deep-Dive
Here’s the thinking behind the 800W on a 400V supply: it gives you a high-density heat source that gets hot quickly and holds steady under load, while fitting neatly into the 400V circuits most industrial machines already have. And the 400mm length? That’s a sweet spot. Go shorter and you risk hot spots. Go longer and the intensity drops off at the target. At 400mm, you get a heating zone that’s easy to mount and easy to shield. Now, the trade-off is real: packing 800W into a tight space means this lamp runs hot. So plan your airflow and keep the reflectors clean—otherwise it’ll run hotter than it should, and you’ll shorten its life.
Material & Design
Halogen chemistry keeps the quartz envelope stable and helps the output stay consistent over time, by sending tungsten back to the filament. The shortwave infrared is focused on one thing: rapid surface heating—exactly what you need when the job demands a quick temperature response. You can wire it up fast thanks to the R7s connector, which works with standard ceramic holders. Swapping it out on the floor doesn’t mean re-terminating leads. The quartz body handles thermal shock better than glass, and the internal support is built to take the vibration and temperature swings of a real industrial day.
Application & Benefits
This lamp is for the moments when you need heat on demand—pre-heating parts, drying coatings, curing adhesives, or supporting plastics processing where infrared speed matters. The 400V input makes integration simple. The 400mm length fits standard mounting spacing. And the 800W output gives you enough heat density to get the work done without adding bulky infrastructure. We built it for industrial duty, but it still needs the right thermal care. Match it to the proper holder, keep airflow under control, and you’ll have a heat source you can trust—shift after shift.
